This blog shows the strike from a doctors point of view, many of whom went into work early to attend to patients before returning to the streets. Ethically right? You decide. Personally I see this as the last resort to fix something that’s been broken for way too long. Ethically these doctors need to attend to patients as they have the right to health care as stated in the National Patients Rights Charter.

Agree, then again the government is not backing up the system by expecting doctors to work unreasonable hours for unreasonable rates. they are after all highly qualified specialists and need to be looked after if they are to be kept in the country.
Hi Lauren. It’s great to see that you’re presenting both sides of the conversation. It’s one thing to call “unethical” when we see doctors striking, and another to explore the reasons for that strike. It potentially makes us ask uncomfortable questions about ourselves and what we might do in similar situations.
It’s easy to be self-righteous when presented with these problems that at first glance seem so clear cut. It’s far more difficult to try and see the argument from all sides.
